Paint Protection Film

Invisible armor for your paint. Self-healing urethane film takes the rock chips, sandblasting, and road rash, so your paint doesn't. Installed with precision at our Smithville shop.

What is PPF?

The strongest protection your paint can wear

Paint protection film (PPF) is a thick, optically clear urethane film that bonds to your painted panels and takes the abuse the road throws at them. Unlike a wax or a ceramic coating, PPF physically absorbs impacts, rock chips, gravel spray, bug etching, and winter sanding never reach your clear coat. Its self-healing top layer lets light swirls and scratches disappear with a little heat from the sun, and it's nearly invisible once installed. It's the difference between protecting your shine and protecting the paint itself, and the best way to keep a new vehicle looking new.

Why film with Branded

Self-healing finish

The film's top coat re-flows with heat, so light swirls and wash marks disappear instead of stacking up on your paint.

Takes the hit for you

Rock chips, gravel, salt, and bug acid stop at the film. Peel-protected paint underneath stays factory-fresh.

Pairs with ceramic

Top your PPF with a ceramic coating for hydrophobic, easy-wash gloss over armored panels, the best of both worlds.

FAQ

Paint protection film questions, answered

What areas of my vehicle should I protect with paint protection film?
The right coverage depends on how and where you drive. High-impact areas like the front bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors, and rocker panels typically see the most abuse from rocks and road debris. Branded Detailing offers options ranging from partial front protection to full-front coverage, full-vehicle wraps, and color-change film, so you can choose the level of protection that makes sense for your vehicle.
Is paint protection film only worth it on luxury or exotic vehicles?
Not at all. Many PPF customers drive daily commuters, pickup trucks, family SUVs, and new vehicles they simply want to keep looking newer for longer. If you spend a lot of time on highways or gravel roads, protecting vulnerable paint can help preserve your vehicle's appearance regardless of its price tag.
Can paint protection film heal small scratches?
Many modern paint protection films are designed with self-healing properties that allow light surface marks to become less noticeable with heat from the sun or warm water. While deeper cuts or impact damage can still require attention, self-healing technology helps the film continue looking cleaner through normal everyday use.
Will paint protection film change the appearance of my paint?
Quality paint protection film is designed to preserve your vehicle's appearance rather than hide it. When professionally installed, the film is intended to be difficult to notice while allowing your paint's color and gloss to remain the focal point. Proper installation is especially important around edges, curves, and complex body lines.
Does paint protection film turn yellow over time?
Older generations of protective film earned that reputation, but today's premium films are engineered to better resist discoloration and maintain their clarity. The longevity of any installation depends on factors like product quality, environmental exposure, and proper maintenance. Backed by an 8-year manufacturer warranty.*
Should I choose paint protection film or a ceramic coating?
They solve different problems. Paint protection film is designed to help defend against physical damage like rock chips and road debris, while ceramic coating focuses on making the surface easier to clean and protecting against environmental contaminants. Many customers choose both, using PPF on high-impact areas and ceramic coating over the remaining painted surfaces for comprehensive protection.
How much does paint protection film cost?
Pricing depends on how much of the vehicle you want to protect and the complexity of the installation. Branded Detailing offers partial front, full-front, full-vehicle, and color-change film options, with packages starting around $1,250 for qualifying installations. A consultation is the best way to determine which coverage option fits your vehicle and goals.
Is paint protection film a good investment for trucks driven on Missouri highways?
Many truck owners choose PPF because larger vehicles often spend significant time on highways where rock chips and road debris are common. Protecting the front end can help reduce visible wear over time, especially for drivers who regularly travel the US-169 corridor or other busy Northland routes where gravel and debris are unavoidable.
